What is Rock al Parque and why you should be there
Rock al Parque is not just any festival. It is the largest free rock festival in Latin America and a landmark in Bogotá's cultural calendar. Since 1995, this event has brought together hundreds of thousands of people at Parque Metropolitano Simón Bolívar to enjoy national and international bands without paying a single peso for admission.
The festival's history began in 1995 with around 30,000 people. Today, three decades later, Rock al Parque attracts more than 400,000 attendees over its three days. What started as a bet by the Instituto Distrital de las Artes (Idartes) to give local bands a space has become a continental benchmark, where legends like Kiss, The Offspring, Molotov, Aterciopelados, La Derecha and hundreds of other groups have performed.

- Alternative Stage: a more intimate space for experimental acts, emerging bands and genres such as extreme metal, punk and electronic music. It is near the park's lake.
Official Rock al Parque 2025 lineup
The organization has confirmed a program that mixes rock veterans with new generations. Although the full lineup will be announced in several stages during the first half of 2025, the bands confirmed so far are the following:
Day 1 – Saturday, August 16

The festival takes place in a large outdoor space, so it is crucial to wear comfortable clothing and footwear. You will be standing and walking a lot, and the weather can vary. Bring a light jacket if the weather is cool.
Stay hydrated and eat well
Although there are food options at the festival, it is advisable to bring your own reusable water bottle to avoid dehydration. Also, a healthy snack will keep you energized throughout the day.
Public transportation
Use Bogotá's public transportation system. TransMilenio is an efficient option, but make sure to check routes and schedules in advance, especially for the return. Taxis and private transportation services are also alternatives, but they may have higher prices due to demand.
