About this event

Updated on 23 de October, 2026
Teatro El Parque transforms into a fantasy universe with 'One Thousand and One Nights', a production that captures the essence of the most beloved tales of the East and brings them to the stage with humor, music and acrobatics. Compañía de Teatro Itinerante Don Gus signs this version in which a troupe of acrobats, who expected to present their famous 'Romeo and Juliet Costeño', is forced to improvise a show inspired by Scheherazade, Sinbad the Sailor, Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves, and Aladdin and the Magic Lamp. The result is a nimble and surprising play that celebrates imagination and the power of storytelling. The staging combines acting, juggling and live music to create a festive atmosphere close to the audience. Each scene recreates a different tale with ingenious resources and a rhythm that keeps children and adults engaged. The direction opts for a popular, colorful language that dialogues with oral tradition and street theater, making the spectator feel part of the show. We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes early to get a good seat, as Teatro El Parque has limited capacity. Comfortable clothing is ideal, since the venue is semi-open and the temperature can vary. If you come by public transport, the nearest station is Calle 36 with Carrera 5; by bicycle there are bike racks around the park. Teatro El Parque, managed by Idartes, is an emblematic space of the Bogotá scene dedicated to children and families. Its programming seeks to bring new audiences closer to theater with quality proposals and affordable prices. This play is part of the city's cultural agenda and is an excellent opportunity to enjoy a universal classic told with a local accent with the family.
