About this event

Updated on 28 de October, 2026
A 8 tiempos: la cara oculta is a contemporary dance piece that delves into the heart of dance training spaces to reveal what usually remains hidden: beauty standards, gender stereotypes, and power dynamics woven into the audition as a selection mechanism. The collective Alerta Latente crafts a work that is not only danced but also questions, unsettles, and opens conversation about who has the right to occupy the stage and under what conditions. The performance unfolds in an intimate and reflective atmosphere, where movement becomes a critical language. Through precise bodily sequences and moments of scenic tension, the audience is invited to look behind the curtain of artistic training and recognize the marks left by judgments on the body and identity. It is an experience that combines technical rigor with a deep social intention. To fully enjoy the presentation, it is recommended to arrive at least 20 minutes early, as capacity is limited and admission is free until full. Comfortable and warm clothing is suggested, since cultural venues in the locality can be cool on a Bogotá evening. Using public transport or ride-hailing apps is advisable to avoid parking hassles in the area. Puente Aranda, a locality with a strong industrial and cultural tradition, opens its doors to artistic proposals that decentralize dance in Bogotá. This presentation is part of the agenda of the Instituto Distrital de las Artes (Idartes), which promotes free access to performing arts across all localities. The event is an opportunity to meet emerging talent and a critical gaze on the world of dance.
