'Fuera de sí' by Jenny Ocampo and Santiago Botero

Fuera de sí is a scenic experience that fuses dance and music in an intimate and visceral dialogue. Created by Colombian artists Jenny Ocampo and Santiago Botero, this interdisciplinary project explores altered states of consciousness, dissociation, and the search for identity through movement and live sound. The work invites the audience to immerse themselves in a sensory universe where body and music intertwine to question our relationship with reality and perception. The program includes a single 60-minute performance in the Sala Gaitán of the Teatro Jorge Eliécer Gaitán, an emblematic space in Bogotá known for its art deco architecture and exceptional acoustics. The intimate atmosphere of the hall allows a close connection between the artists and the audience, making each performance a unique and unrepeatable experience. The carefully designed lighting and sound design create an immersive environment that transports attendees to a state of introspection and wonder. To fully enjoy the performance, it is recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes before the start to enter without setbacks and take your seats. The theater is located in downtown Bogotá, at Calle 71 # 10-25, with easy access by public transport (TransMilenio station Calle 72) and nearby parking options. It is suggested to dress comfortably and bring a light jacket, as the hall tends to keep a cool temperature. The Teatro Jorge Eliécer Gaitán is one of the most important cultural venues in the city, managed by the Gilberto Alzate Avendaño Foundation (FUGA) and the Secretary of Culture, Recreation, and Sports. With a capacity of 1,200 people, it has hosted countless dance, music, and theater events.
