Free Workshops for Teachers at Maloka: Science Clubs with Airbus Foundation

Maloka, in partnership with Airbus Foundation Discovery Space (AFDS), invites teachers from the Engativá and Fontibón localities to free training in science and technology. This project aims to bring science and technology closer to school communities, promoting the social appropriation of scientific and technological knowledge among adolescents aged 12 to 14, through the implementation of neighborhood Science Clubs based on innovative pedagogical resources. The workshops will take place on May 28 and June 2, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Maloka. During these sessions, teachers will learn to connect everyday experiences with principles of aeronautics, technological innovation, and STEM learning. In total, more than 50 students from the Fontibón and Engativá localities participate in this training process, which is developed through seven experimental learning sessions, with the collaboration of the Instituto Infantil y Juvenil, the Biblioteca Pública las Ferias, and the local mayor's office of Engativá. Attendees are recommended to arrive 15 minutes early to register and wear comfortable clothing. The event is free but requires prior registration. Interested teachers must confirm their attendance through the official link. Maloka is an interactive science and technology center located in Bogotá, recognized for its focus on scientific dissemination and experiential education. This alliance with Airbus Foundation reinforces its commitment to educational innovation and the development of STEM skills in vulnerable communities.
