About this event

Updated on 2 de September, 2026
Improclown! is a vibrant and participatory show where three clowns specialized in improvisation and physical theater turn audience suggestions into the engine of an unrepeatable performance. Each presentation is a spontaneous journey full of humor, wit, and surprises, where the limit is set by collective imagination. This event is part of the programming of Culturas en Común, an initiative by Idartes that decentralizes art and brings quality shows to different localities of Bogotá, in alliance with Festival Mamarracho Fiesta Casera Payasa Vol. 9. During approximately one hour, the artists combine clown, stand-up, comic theater, choreographies, and improvisation dynamics, creating a fresh and direct scenic language that connects with audiences of all ages. The audience is not a mere spectator: their ideas, phrases, and witticisms become the material with which the clowns weave stories, sketches, and games that challenge logic and celebrate the absurd. The energy of the show is contagious, and each performance is a social experiment where laughter is the protagonist. To fully enjoy the experience, it is recommended to arrive early to get comfortable and actively participate when the artists invite the audience to propose. No previous experience or special preparation is needed, just a desire to laugh and be surprised. The show is designed for all audiences, from children to adults, and is a perfect opportunity to share with family or friends. If you attend with children, make sure they are ready to participate and be part of the show. The event will take place in community and educational spaces, such as IED Ciudad Villavicencio in Usme and Centro de Desarrollo Comunitario Arborizadora Alta in Ciudad Bolívar, reflecting Culturas en Común's commitment to bringing performing arts to diverse territories. These venues are accessible and have the necessary infrastructure to host artistic presentations, providing a welcoming and safe environment for all attendees. Admission is free, thanks to the support of district entities, making this an inclusive and democratic event.
